Happy Veteran's Day!
Something you would probably never guess about me is that I served in the USAF for 4 years. Instead of going to art school, I left to see the world...got stationed in Omaha, Nebraska, met the love of my life and said I'd follow him anywhere. And we are still here 34 years later LOL.
This picture is circa 1989. (It doesn't feel that long ago!) My husband and I were in our first apartment and I was wearing BDUs that he had outgrown and given to me. This was our idea of casual day.
My husband was a military kid and grew up at Langley AFB in Virginia and he LOVES airplanes and kept asking me to paint a collection. I started with the F4U Corsair, his favorite. He's made me watch hours of Baa Baa Blacksheep with him (we are poor little lambs who have lost our way...) Then a customer contacted me and nudged me to finish the P51 Mustang, P40 Warhawk and P38 Lightning.
This has been a great, versatile collection because it appeals to all ages. It's fun to see all the fans being drawn to these illustrations and see their photos.
