2024 Art Reflection

2024 Art Reflection

HAPPY 2025!!

I’ve been quiet since Black Friday.

I haven’t sent any emails since, and honestly, I feel a little sad about that. I also didn’t post on Facebook or Instagram, and while it’s tempting to worry that I might be missing out, I’ve realized it doesn’t affect my sales much at all. To my surprise, I even sold two originals through Instagram during this time!

2024 ART IN REVIEW

I started 2024 with a goal to dive deeper into surface pattern design, and I’m thrilled to share that I added over 100 new designs to my Spoonflower shop.

In late spring, I had the honor of being invited back by Longwood University Magazine to paint seven new portraits for their Alumni Issue—the second year in a row! As a portrait painter at heart, this project was a joy. It gave me the opportunity to focus on what I love most: painting while listening to audiobooks.

November brought another exciting milestone: I opened a second Etsy shop dedicated to pet portraits and animal paintings. While it’s tougher to gain traction on Etsy these days, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a few sales from new customers (after some encouragement from friends to check it out).

Meanwhile, my main shop and website saw an increase in commissions, which made me incredibly happy. Reflecting on 2024, I’m proud of the amount of artwork I completed and the creative growth I experienced. 😊
